We lead, manage, and coordinate the preservation and enhancement of the physical plant of Cornell's four Contract Colleges.*
Project Administration:
We manage the Contract Colleges Capital Plan including project development, initiation, and execution. We ensure all required CU, SUCF** and municipal approvals are received. We manage campus let capital projects from architect/engineer selection through occupancy, facilitate the management of SUCF managed projects, and support and advise the college facility staff regarding renovation and maintenance issues.
Maintenance Management/Facilities Maintenance:
We administer financial resources for the maintenance of state-owned buildings, greenhouses, and grounds, throughout the Ithaca campus and at various research sites throughout the state.
Utilities/Energy Management:
We coordinate with the Utilities and Energy Management Department to ensure all projects, capital or otherwise, make prudent decisions regarding implementation of energy conservation initiatives. We also administer financial resources for the repair, and construction of utility distribution systems for the Contract Colleges.
Code Compliance:
We ensure compliance with the NYS Building Code and provide permitting, temporary certificates of occupancy, and certificates of occupancy for all projects managed by Cornell in state owned facilities of the Contract Colleges.
Space Inventory:
We support the Facilities Inventory
Office by providing drafting and specialized
space reporting for Contract Colleges facilities.
* The Contract Colleges (formerly known as the Statutory Colleges) include the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, the College of Human Ecology, the School of Industrial and Labor Relations and the College of Veterinary Medicine.
** SUCF is the State University Construction Fund. This agency manages design and construction of many state funded projects for SUNY facilities including the Contract Colleges at Cornell.
